Super Bowl Parade
The 58th Super Bowl was celebrated internationally this past weekend and was certainly a very intense game. It was played between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. There were many celebrities at this game, including Ice Spice, Taylor Swift, Lebron James and many more. This game had to be completed in overtime, as both teams were putting in a lot of effort to win this important game. Therefore, the Kansas City Chiefs ended up scoring the final touchdown to bring the 58th Super Bowl to an end. They ended up winning 25-22. Therefore, a parade was to be celebrated, to commemorate their win and to celebrate the players themselves as well. However, things took a completely drastic, terrifying turn in the end, as a mass shooting had occurred.
Deadly Mass Shooting
At this Super Bowl parade, there was a deadly mass shooting that had taken place. The motive is still unknown, and there were too many casualties that were suffered because of this act. So far, there has been one confirmed dead, and nine others that were injured as a result of this mass shooting. What was supposed to be a day of celebration, turned into a deadly massacre, and sent many people home terrified.
This will surely prevent many people from attending events of the sort in the near future. Furthermore, there has been two armed that have been detained by police after this mass shooting.

Additionally, there were an estimated one million people that had attended this parade, and there were 600 law enforcement officials that had attended as well. Many agree that 600 law enforcement officials is certainly not enough to ensure the safety of one million people. Therefore, backlash is certainly to be expected as there was not a larger police presence.
Players and the City
The players, alongside city officials, had wished their condolences to the victims of this senseless tragedy. This should have been a moment to celebrate, not fear for one’s life. There is a hope that these two gunmen that are in custody, receive the maximum consequence that they can, as these 10 victims did not deserve what happened to them.
