Mass Tragedy
It truly is unfortunate to see the number of tragedies that occur in the U.S across an entire year. Many people get their hands on weapons of military caliber and decide to use it against innocent civilians. Unfortunately, it can sometimes be difficult to locate someone that may be attempting to initiate a tragedy within the near future. However, parishioners at a children’s service were able to sense the danger and put an end to it before anyone got hurt.
However, there are instances where the FBI is able to locate people that are thinking about harming others and putting an end to it right away. As a result, there are many tragedies that are prevented. However, since there are times where it can be hard to locate it, tragedies can occur, unless people step in, such as these parishioners at a children’s service.
Parishioners Become Heroes
When a 16-year-old came into the church with a rifle, parishioners immediately sprang into action, making sure this individual did not claim any lives. They called the authorities and made sure that this teenager did not hurt anyone in the process. As a result, they were able to apprehend this individual. They will be charged to the fullest extent of the law.
“What is clear is that people confronted the teen when he entered the church, which does not allow firearms inside, and stopped him before he had a chance to do physical harm,” according to The Washington Post. If it were not for these parishioners who stepped in, there could have been a massive tragedy over the weekend.
The Future of This Event
This truly was a scary event that everyone had to go through. This truly left the church community, as well as those that surround the church, truly anxious and potentially scared to attend church within the near future. It truly is saddening to see acts of this nature increasing as the years go by. Thankfully, the parishioners were there to ensure that nothing happened to the children or the families that were attending this service. There is a hope that this never occurs again in the future.
