The end of 2023 is here and people are looking at ways to ring in the new year. There are many ways this can be done. People can:
- Go to or host parties.
- Go to hot spots like Time Square.
- Or head down to the House of Blue for a “Shrek Rave.”
There are even family fun choice that will be happening all around the nation, including Chicago.
Ways to Ring in 2024
The House of Blues, located at 329 North Dearborn Street, will be hosting a “Shrek Rave” for those 21 and older on New Year’s Eve. The party will get started at 9 p.m. and feature tunes from the “Shrek” movies along with other great hits.
Furthermore, those looking for some fun for the whole family could check out Lincoln Park’s Zoolights. Tickets for this New Year’s Eve celebration start at $7. Moreover, the Lincoln Park will have countdowns every hour, so little ones feel like they stayed up for all the fun.
Similarly, the Brookfield Zoo will be hosting a Holiday Magic event from 3 to 9 p.m. on December 31. Tickets for those 12 and older cost $29.95 with 3 to 11 year old’s getting in for $20.95. Furthermore, people of all ages can head on down to the Navy Pier to ring in the New Year to watch the iconic fireworks display. People are welcome to wait anywhere on the pier to watch the sky light up starting at 11:50 p.m.
Other Ways to Celebrate
For those planning on staying home, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, plan on entertaining viewers with live performances and other dazzling shows for New Year’s Eve. Chicagoans can watch the annual Emmy-nominated “A Very Chicago New Year” will be airing on NBC 5 at 11 p.m.
Furthermore, there will be an all-star lineup of performances and hosts. For example, Chicago music legend and Smashing Pumpkins founder Billy Corgan and his wife, fashion designer Chloe Mendel will be in attendance. Additionally, streaming platforms like Roku, Peacock, Amazon Fire TV, Google Play, Freevee, TCLtv+, and Xumo Play will also air New Year Eve specials.
As always people are encouraged to drink responsibly and ring in the New Year safely.
