It is Saturday night, the third night of the Chicago Golden Gloves quarter-finals, and the crowd is ready to see some amazing fights. As the fighters enter the ring in Cicero Stadium the people begin to cheer.
In the red corner danced Jordan Fox and Francisco Rodriguez was in blue. Both fighters are light on their feet with quick hands. They take some time to read each other before either one attempts to land a punch.
Fox throws several fast left jabs and Rodriguez dodges. The fight is underway. The crowd watches with anticipation. Fox swings and Rodriguez is quick to move out of the way before he attempts a left jab. The two fighters dance around the ring attempting hits and dodging their opponent.

Fox lands a hit and his fists fly into action as he chases Rodriguez into the corner. After dodging a couple of punches, Fox comes back with a fury of fists to his opponent’s midsection. Rodriguez is backed onto the ropes. He is taking hits to the face. The fighter dodges and backs out of Fox’s reach. The crowd intently watches as the fists fly across the ring cheering when their fighter lands a hit.
The fighters are evenly matched. The blows are hard and swift. Fox and Rodriguez equally threw punches and dodged as they went. This bout will be hard for the judges to score. Neither fighter is showing any signs of wear. Members of the crowd are chanting and Fox and Rodriguez are feeding off that energy.
The fight intensifies and the red and blue gloves move faster. The crowd is getting louder. Delagado backs fox into a corner but he flies out with a hard right hand and they are back in the center ring. The crowd goes wild. The boxers continue to battle. Back and forth they take turns connecting hits and weaving around punches. Each connected hit swiftly followed by another.
Fox chases Rodriguez into the corner and falls to one knee. He took a minute to get up. The referee calls a timeout and talks to Rodriguez. The fight is back on and Fox seems unphased.
The boxers match each other blow-for-blow. Fists are moving hard and fast. The crowd is cheering every hit right up until the final bell.
The winner by split decision: Francisco Rodriguez!
