Even though it is not the exact cure, which is what a lot of people are looking for, it certainly is a breakthrough nonetheless. This can certainly be implemented into everyone’s lives to potentially shorten the number of people that get cancer.
However, this vaccine is not like the COVID-19 vaccine, in which COVID can be prevented with that vaccine. It is something a bit different. “These aren’t traditional vaccines that prevent disease, but shots to shrink tumors and stop cancer from coming back,” according to AP News.
Therefore, this can be given to patients who already suffer from cancer. However, no matter what, this can surely help change lives. There is a hope that within the near future, this vaccine can be expanded even more.
How Exactly Would This Vaccine Work in the Human Body?
It seems that this vaccine has its own set course. “The idea is to deliver into the body bits of proteins, or antigens, from cancer cells to stimulate the immune system to attack any incipient tumors,” according to Science.
Therefore, there is obviously some tedious work that this vaccine will surely have to do within the human body. If it works, this will surely be a huge breakthrough, especially for those that currently have cancer.
However, cancer will certainly continue to be prominent despite this vaccine being introduced, yet it will surely be a huge factor when it comes to changing lives across the nation. Therefore, there is still hope when it comes to a cure being introduced in the near future.
