Blizzard released its reveal of the “World of Warcraft: Dragonflight” expansion pack today. Some of the pack’s details were leaked early. In the past few days, a gamer on the MMO-Champion forums, Scaleface, shared information about the game’s new expansion.
In 2015, Scaleface spoiled the 2016 reveal of “Legion,” and the gamer is up to it again seven years later with “Dragonflight.”
The expansion will include:
- A new playable race called dracthyr
- Humanoid dragons
- Playable class, Evoker, who can cast Arcane spells
- The original talent trees will return

The talent trees look like they will offer players more gameplay customizations. They will need to be tested to
avoid balance issues.
World of Warcraft has competed with “Final Fantasy XIV” and “Lost Ark” only to lose some players. This is a much-needed launch for Blizzard to regain the interest of players. This is a chance for the company to appeal to players who have not entered Azeroth.
“Dragonflight” takes place on the large new continent of Dragon Isles. For almost two decades, Dragon Isles has been in the gaming code and lore. Beyond the finished continent is five new zones.
- The Waking Shores: Players will assist Alexstrasza and Wrathion with claiming lost lands for the green dragonflight.
- Ohn’ahran Plains: this is the ancestral home of the green dragonflight, but it is controlled by ancient centaurs who created a bond with the “aspect of nature.” The death of Y’sera in Legion created uncertainty and turmoil so the Alliance and Horde are there to help.
- The Azure Span: Home of the blue dragonflight, it is filled with magical archives and frost-bitten tribes of gnolls, and tuskarr.
- Thaldraszus: This zone contains the seat of power for all dragons and the bronze dragonflight takes care of the flow of time.
- The Forbidden Reach: a new starting zone for level 58 dracthyr players, it was the former home of Neltharion and where dracthyr are created and trained. This has been off-limits until now.
