The time has come! Apple debuts their newest phone models, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus at their “Wonderlust” event Tuesday.
What’s New?
Along with revealing their newest lineup, Apple presented other major updates. The company verified they will indeed be switching their proprietary lightning charge cable to USB-C on the iPhone 15 models. This announcement comes as a big surprise because this is iPhone’s biggest design change in over a decade. Usually at Apple’s annual iPhone events, they announce small tweaks that have been made. Such as the battery life, camera systems, and displays. This design change could prove to be efficient in regard to the charging process across various devices and brands. This charger update hopes to motivate Apple consumers or consumers in general, to upgrade their phones.

More iPhone 15 Specs and Features
Besides the major charger update, there are some more new specs on this iPhone model. The newest model features an extended “Dynamic Island” tool that is home to alerts, notifications, and other controls. This feature is previously shown on only the iPhone 14 Pro. Other features include updated image stabilization for taking photos and videos, 2x optimization and updated portraits with richer color and better low-light performance. The phone’s battery is also made up of 100% recycled cobalt. Another amazing feature is that now the iPhone 15’s satellite connectivity can summon roadside assistance via AAA if having car trouble while being off the grid.
There’s also a new camera feature called “spatial video” on the Pro. The two cameras on the Pro can capture videos in a three-dimensional effect. Now all iPhone 15 models will automatically have iOS 17 software which has a few updates to apps as well. For example, the Phone app has Live Voicemail which allows users to see the transcription of the caller leaving a voice message in real-time. It even allows users to still pick up the call while the callers are leaving a voicemail. As well as other two cool new features, one in the Messages app called Check In, where you can automatically notify loved ones that you made it to your destination safely. The other feature is NameDrop where users can share contact information by simply bringing their devices together.
Lastly, the phone will be released in five remarkable pastel colors, black, blue, green, yellow, and pink. The iPhone 15 costs $799, the 15 Plus starting at $899 and the Pro series starting at $999. The official release date is September 22nd, with pre-orders beginning the 15th.
