Becoming a successful, productive member of society can be difficult under normal situations. However, for those reentering society after incarceration it is even more difficult. Adullam Faith Ministries exists to help men previously incarcerated become productive citizens.
Though they have only been a not-for-profit for a year and a half, they have been helping men be successful for almost 14 years. Reverend Rodney Tucker found the organization after “28 years of living in the world”
Rev. Tucker spent his younger years in and out of jail and the penitentiary. All his life he always “Knew of God,” but it wasn’t until Dec. 31, 1999, that he found him.
A New Lease on Life
“After what seemed like a lifetime of searching and coming up short, I was blessed to find something that I was not looking for, my spirituality. After receiving Christ in my life, my foundation became sure and through the study of the Word of God, I have tried to live my life according to the instructions for life,” stated Rev. Tucker.
He has spent the past 24 years living the Word of God. Rev. Tucker founded Adullam Faith Ministries to be a support system for men returning to society. He and the other two members focus their efforts on the returning citizens assisting them in any way they can.
Adullam Faith Ministries Is the Support System That Stays
There are many programs that can help with the initial release of a formerly incarcerated person, however, there aren’t many that stay to be a supportive entity. Adullam Faith Ministries prides themselves on forming personal relationships with the guys they help. Whether it’s giving them a ride, praying, or helping with items they need to stay out of prison.
Adullam Faith Ministries is currently working out of Rev. Tucker’s basement but has hopes to be in their own building soon. They cater to men reentering society all throughout the state of Illinois.
Currently, they use Goodwill and Salvation Army to purchase items the men may need. As such they welcome monetary donations. If anyone would like to donate you can do so via Zelle — adullamfaithministries@gmail.com.
People can reach them at (773)932-7896 or email adullamfaithministries@gmail.com.
