Air Force Falcons Snow Game
A college football game was hosted in a snow storm. The teams playing were the Air Force Falcons and the Colorado State Rams. The game happened October 28, last Saturday and was hosted in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Falcons Win Snow Game
The Falcons did what they needed to win the game. Their defensive line fought hard which pushed forward to victory.
During the game, Emmanuel Michel ran for the touchdown after Larrier threw for the score. While the third quarter was almost over, Matthew Dapore did a 29-yard field goal to contribute to the lead. Zac Larrier of the Falcons team scored a 1-yard run touchdown in the third quarter which led to Rams fans throwing snowballs at the visiting team. They were striving for motivation in order to maintain being undefeated, even if it is with a 30-13 win. The Air Force Falcons kept pushing to victory as Michel pulled off 130 yards on 20 carries. He also did a 5-yard touch down run during the fourth quarter. The Falcons backed the Rams off in the second half to claim their seventh victory in a row against them.
Angry Fans Throwing Snowballs
Fans of the Rams were warned in the first half over throwing snowballs at the Falcons sideline. If they weren’t to stop, the home team would risk penalties. The issue started when the Falcons had the ball to start the third quarter off and this led to Larrier’s 1-yard touchdown which tied the game. Fans who sat in the lower stands behind the sideline were ordered to transition to row 16 or higher. Security guards made a barrier between the fans and the Falcons.
The School History of the Falcons

The Air Force Falcons are a historic and successful NCAA team. Their record spans over 80 years. They’re consistent with competition for championships in many sports like basketball and hockey, not just football.
The Falcons’ football program got their first victory of the conference championship in 1956. They even showed up at the Orange Bowl in the same year. Ever since, they won three more conference title victories in 1960, 1998, and 2002, including two bowl games: the 1985 Liberty Bowl and the 2004 Emerald Bowl. The Air Force team earned seven Hall of Fame titles.
Chad Hennings, a defensive end player from 1985-1988, won the Heisman Trophy. He then became an All-Pro NFL player with the popular Dallas Cowboys during 1989-2000.
Other Air Force Team Programs
Through the years, their basketball program experienced similar success. They won five regular season championships after joining the Division l play during 1973-74. The basketball program showed up competed at four NCAA tournaments in its history. In the 2017-18 campaign they made it to the Sweet Sixteen round, sadly they were wiped out by the Villanova Wildcats after putting up a strong effort against taller opponents. Many players from the program made their way into the NBA draft like Mike Phelps who joined the Atlanta Hawks in 1991 after a college career. He scored 788 points while keeping double digits in all of his seasons serving the Falcons.
The Air Force Falcons have came a long way ever since and are bound to experience more achievements along the way.
