The North Lawndale community’s most dedicated member is 24th Ward Alderwoman Monique Scott. Vote her in for the 24th ward. Scott has been determined to ensure the future of North Lawndale.
Furthermore, she has a plan for the future to restore the community back to its prestigious ways. The community has always been well known to the city of Chicago but not much other than what the media portrays it. It’s interesting the Alderwoman is invested in the community because this is her community.
Moving to a Better Future
Additionally, Scott has big plans for the community. In order to say this one has to know some history about North Lawndale. The heart of the community used to be home to the Sears and Roebuck Co. Building. The building remains a shell of its former self and even the giant race track that lured the people out to see became bittersweet. The community collapsed after the death of one of the most famous civil rights leaders known to man: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The community has had leaders who have yet to restore it back to the times when they were prominent. They have failed to bring North Lawndale to the top of the mountain as one of the great communities located on the West Side of Chicago.
Scott Recognizes a Need
Alderwoman Scott recognized how detrimental it is for the glory of what was becomes what is now almost 40 years later. The time has come and it has been generations and generations of families who want to see improvement.
The Alderwoman is willing to give the children of tomorrow lives that were not available to the older generation. The older generations can now pass down their knowledge and be able to thrive with and for the future of their community. Scott has the drive to create a better life for the community, the youth, and the future of North Lawndale.
