For many people, in this instance, Americans’ points of view are part of who they are. It can vary between their values, cultural customs, or just the way they live their own lives. But, in this day and age, the idea of freedom of speech has become an afterthought when feelings are involved in juxtaposition to facts.
People with popularity and influence specifically in America become topics of controversy when the public reacts in an opposing way to that person’s opinion. Social media influencers like Andrew Tate and Joe Rogan have been banned from major social media platforms, ridiculed, and chastised due to their controversial and dividing views on western society.
Tate has been accused of misogynistic and distasteful words regarding the state of men’s masculinity, women’s standards for men, and feminism. Though much of what he has said has become a topic of conversation on social media, others believe this is part of propaganda. Tate was banned from Tik-Tok, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube, why? Because he is a person that needs to be silenced. Joe Rogan was blackballed because of his use of the N-word during discourse on his podcast, which is the biggest podcast on planet earth “The Joe Rogan Experience,” why was he not canceled the same?

The answer is that he is a 54-year-old American man who has been very careful of what he says on his platform about western society and governmental superpowers. He may say he is not afraid of being canceled but he cares about his reputation and legacy. Tate is the opposite, he will speak what he feels, though it is not agreed upon universally, it is his truth nonetheless. He will not apologize because he does not feel he is wrong and his life does not beget such a decision.
For a moment remove the polarizing words, profane banter, and flamboyant persona and instead pay attention to the response from the culture. Young men see who they call the “Top G” as a glitch in the matrix. Meaning that he will not conform to the already engraved ideologies and indoctrinations of western civilization and instead escape the nine-to-five 40 acres and a mule nursery rhyme sold to anyone born in the land of the free. Most Americans feel trapped like they have no control over their lives and trajectory, Tate motivates them to do so. Though many see him as a rich bigot, there are people who see Tate and see freedom, as the true definition of self-actualization and power.
He can not be controlled or bought or influenced. In America believe it or not, there are people who work in the shadows pulling strings that do not like a person they cannot do any of those things to. Instead of society picking and choosing what they want to hear, actively listen to what he says and believes in context but, that’s the point of an argument, to prove one’s own point. The United States of America is portrayed as a nation of freedom and liberties. To some these liberties are taken away when people who don’t agree combat the opposing side’s ideals. Silencing him indicates one of two things. One is that he is dangerous to society, and the second is that he is dangerous to those who control the framework of society, power recognizes power.
