Behind the Scenes

Recently the producer of the TV channel and his friends has been exposed for sexually assaulting almost all of their cast members behind the scenes on Nickelodeon throughout all of their years on the shows and no one was there to help those and advocate for them.
Dan Schneider has apologized for inappropriate actions on Nickelodeon sets.
The former producer, who worked on shows like “Drake and Josh,” “iCarly,” “Victorious,” and “The Amanda Show,” left the Nickelodeon network in 2018.
Several actors, crew, and late child stars accused Schneider of abuse, inappropriate behavior, and a poisonous work atmosphere while working on his shows in “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.” In a 19-minute YouTube video released on Tuesday, he described the documentary as “Uncomfortable” and “embarrassing” to watch.
“Thinking back on some of my less than admirable former actions that were uncomfortable and unpleasant that I regret , I definitely owe some people a sincere apology,” Schneider stated in a 19-minute interview.
Recently, in “Quiet on Set,” Jenny Kilgen, a former writer for “The Amanda Show,” said Schneider would make improper and sexual remarks on set and had asked her for a massage.
His Apology
He said in the video that it was “a violation” for him to do so. He went on to say: “I ask for forgiveness from anybody that I ever put in that uncomfortable and harsh situation, and even additionally, I apologize to the individuals that were on set during filming or wherever the incident occurred, as many other people were present and may have also felt uneasy.”
Schneider also stated that any objectionable content or jokes in the shows he produced should be removed, explaining that “Kids found those jokes funny, therefore that’s why they were created with their enjoyment in mind. We now have some adults looking back on them 20 years later from their perspective. I am fine with that. Let’s take those jokes out of the show”.
Schneider went on to further state that his broadcasts were subjected to “many levels of scrutiny,” that many network officials agreed to publish the content and appearance of his shows, and that dozens of adults were present on set and never expressed any concerns.
Jail Time
“Drake and Josh” actor Drake Bell also claimed on “Quiet on Set” that he was sexually molested by Brian Peck, an old Nickelodeon dialect coach. A spokesman for Peck didn’t reply to a request for comment from Sky News’ partner outlet NBC News about Bell’s allegations in the documentary.
According to a case summary from Los Angeles County Superior Court, Peck pleaded no contest and was found guilty of obscene or lascivious behavior with a 14 or 15-year-old juvenile and oral copulation with a minor under the age of 16.
Peck was sentenced to serve 16 months in prison. Bell stated in “Quiet on Set” that Schneider was supportive of him. When asked about Bells’ allegations of abuse, Schneider grew emotional and stated that he did not hire Peck. He also described it as “the darkest period of his career.”
Nickelodeon Documentary Shorts
In June 2021, Bell pleaded guilty to attempted child endangerment. The allegations stemmed from an online interaction with a 15-year-old fan in 2017.
He was sentenced to two years’ probation and 200 hours of community service.
Previously, a Nickelodeon spokesperson stated in response to “Quiet on Set”:” Although we cannot confirm or deny allegations of behavior from many years ago behind the scenes on Nickelodeon, it nevertheless, looks into all legal concerns as part of our duty to fostering a safe and professional job environment free of abuse or other forms of undesirable conduct.”
