Ron Harper of RMS Family Restaurants LLC announced plans to bring three Bojangles to the Chicago area. The authentic Southern chicken franchise offers patrons buttermilk biscuits, and Legendary Sweet Tea, in addition to its Cajun-seasoned fried chicken. Not to mention, Bojangles has down-home sides to pair with each meal.
Bojangles was founded in 1977 in Charlotte, North Carolina. As of 2022, the franchise has 801 locations — primarily in the Southeastern United States. However, they have plans to spread out across the U.S.
Additional Locations
A few of the regions they are looking to open are:
- Dallas, Texas.
- Baltimore, Maryland.
- Central Florida.
Additionally, they are looking at Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.
Some of Bojangles Menu Items
In addition to its signature fried chicken, Bojangles also offers its customers breakfast — which is available all day long in most locations. Their biscuits are made from scratch and they never use a microwave. Some of their fan-favorite breakfast items include the Cajun Chicken Filet Biscuit, the Sausage Egg & Cheese Biscuit, Bacon, Egg & Cheese, Biscuit, and Southern Gravy Biscuit Combo.
Furthermore, they have bo-berry biscuits which are made from scratch buttermilk biscuits stuffed with Bo Berries and topped with sweet icing.
Their breakfast sales generate 37% of the franchise’s income.
A Desire for Chicken Concepts
Harper released a statement saying the franchise saw “a desire for chicken concepts in Chicago.” Furthermore, they “recognize that Bojangles offers an opportunity that truly stands out among its competitors.”
Moreover, Harper did not divulge exactly where the Chicago-area locations will be. However, they did say they will situate Bojangles in “suburban areas.”
Patricia Halpin, vice President of Growth at Bojangles, added the “launch into Chicago is a tremendous step for Bojangles as we continue to expand across the country.” The franchise is starting to “build a powerful brand presence throughout the Midwest.” Haplin added they are “confident” the customers in Chicago will love their products as well.
