A blue four-door sedan-looking car has barreled its way through a light pole and smashed into the side of the church on the Southeast corner of Kenzie and Ogden. The accident occurred around 2 p.m. on May 5, 2022.
The light pole was ripped from the ground leaving broken and cracked concrete everywhere. Chicago police officers, the fire department, and an ambulance arrived at the scene shortly after the vehicle slammed into the side of the Greater Christian Fellowship Church.

Officers assisted the man out of the mangled car. The male could be seen stooped over as he hobbled slightly towards the ambulance with the assistance of two CPD officers. He did not appear to be suffering from major injuries; just looked a little banged up.
The vehicle’s airbags had deployed.
A grey/silver SUV appeared to have been involved somehow in the accident, however, it is unclear in what capacity.
What caused the accident is unknown at this time. The roads are wet from the rain or it could have been the fault of the driver.
Police officers are still processing the scene. This story is ongoing. Further information will be given when it is released.
