Chicago Police Department officers have been protesting the last few weeks in protest of a vaccine mandate required by Mayor Lori Lightfoot.
The officers feel that it is their right to choose what they do with their bodies, and as American citizens, they are well within their right to have this belief. Unfortunately, some officers of the CPD have been stripped of pay due to their refusal of the mandate.
More city workers have joined the police department in resistance to the stronghold of mandates from Lightfoot.

The Fraternal Order of Police launched a fundraiser for the officers with no-pay because of their non-compliance to the Mayor’s established mandate.
They believe the mandate to be “overreaching.” This is just added to an already hefty list of events as the Chicago Police Union said “Hell no” to the vaccine to the Mayor back in August.
Fire Captain Robert Tebbens is vaccinated but supports those who remain unvaccinated because it is their right. However, Tebbens says that “medically” it is their bodies.
Most Firefighters are vaccinated, only leaving a handful without pay. The main pushback is coming from the police, with no hopes of slowing down anytime soon.
