Prosecutors Claim Diddy’s Blackmail Uses Witnesses From Prison

Federal prosecutors are reiterating their plea to a judge to deny bail for Sean “Diddy” Combs, asserting that the music mogul has engaged in efforts to manipulate witnesses and sway potential jurors while incarcerated. On Friday, prosecutors submitted a motion in reaction to Combs’ request for a new bail hearing, following two prior denials from different judges regarding his pre-trial release. In this recent filing, prosecutors allege that Combs has been making “persistent attempts to reach out to potential witnesses, including those who have suffered from his alleged abuse and could offer compelling testimony against him.”

The founder of Bad Boy Records is facing allegations of misusing the phone access codes, or PAC numbers, belonging to other inmates to reach out to various individuals, including his sons, while incarcerated. He is also accused of making “three-way calls” to connect with additional parties. Prosecutors assert that Combs has utilized a third-party communication platform named ContactMeASAP to reach out to “unauthorized” individuals. Many of the allegations presented by the prosecutors in their filing have been redacted. They highlighted an October phone call between Combs and one of his adult sons as an instance of his purported attempts to contact witnesses, although the details of that conversation remain obscured. Nonetheless, prosecutors argue that this call strongly suggests that the defendant aims to intimidate victims and witnesses into either remaining silent or providing testimony that would benefit his defense.

Prosecutors stated, “The defendant closely tracked the analytics—specifically audience engagement—and openly conversed with his family about how to maximize the video’s impact on potential jurors in this case.”

On Monday, two lawsuits were filed against attorney Tony Buzbee, known for over 120 legal actions against Diddy.
