The Point of Fast Food
The point of restaurants that serve fast food is to prepare a quick and easy meal to go. It can also be delivered to you on your doorstep. People with busy lives or are often in a rush find restaurants reliable due to the fact they don’t have time to prepare a meal at home.
Furthermore, the food is also cheaper than buying groceries at the store. Fast food chains spend a lot of money on bringing out new products, which can make more costumers buy from their store.
Health Complications
Although fast food can be satisfying to people’s taste buds, it is often bad for your health. The food contains a lot of calories, fats, sodium, and sugar. Often if you take in saturated fats it can lead to bad cholesterol and a high sodium level. In the long run this type of food can lead to type 2 diabetes, heart related problems, and obesity. Fats and a bunch of sugar can clog up your arteries. This can lead to heart disease or stroke. Daily poor diet choices and weight gain can increase the risk of developing chronic diseases.
People who eat processed food four or more times a week have a high risk of passing away from heart disease by 80 percent. This specific eating habit causes a spike in the body energy and protein levels. Furthermore this can continue on through sleeping disorders and loss of concentration. In advance to that fast food is extremely poor in nutrition. It has many calories that makes us unhealthy.
Fast Food Marketing and Production

People in fast food marketing engage in content through videos, pictures and stories to persuade their costumers. They use social media platforms to promote new products, sales, service, giveaways, and more. Fast food is a type of mass produced food design for commercial resale. However to promote to new costumers you have to understand your product and learn about your market.
When marketing in a company it is their responsibility to create demand for the product they produce. Marketing plays a big role in a company to make sure the items are known and the costumers are satisfied. However the fast food market is very competitive. They make it their business to make sure the products they give out are better. Although you can convince people to buy your product, it is also an investment. Overall, restaurants spend close to $10 billion on advertising.
The #1 Restaurant
McDonald’s is the largest fast food restaurant in the business. The company advertises their products based on age, location, and cultural preferences. In many commercials they use a clown to draw little kids attention. McDonald’s is the best because of it’s consistency across the world.
Often, costumers expect the same quality and taste no matter where they are. The restaurant is best known for fries, cheeseburgers, and nuggets. Furthermore, it is good enough for younger costumers.
The cost of the food also has rise over time. Due to inflation, the prices have made a slight change. On the menu costumers may have concerns about why a certain item is so much. The reason so is because they extended their menu. Often more popular items will go up in sales. Although, restaurants in foreign countries have adapted to price and appeal to local costumers along with taste.
How the Government is Involved
In September 2022, Gavin Newsom, mayor of San Francisco, signed the FAST Act. The restaurant employees must be paid a minimum wage of $20 per hour. The hourly minimum wage may increase by a state appointed council. However workers should get paid more. Furthermore research show raising fast food workers pay in California will only lead to higher living standards for workers.
The government controls the industry by the Drug and Food Administration. Additionally, the FDA monitors the product to ensure that chemicals are approved and contamination from the environment are at a good level. They suggest this type of food should not be regulated. They have implied that the food chain is to big to control. All modern fast food restaurants have combined to eclipse the power of any government. Furthermore, the government’s job is to protect the employees and protect the environment.
