Joe Rogan has been in the media for a while. Usually, it is for his comedy or commentary at UFC sporting events. However, this time it is for political reasons. About three weeks ago, he revealed on Instagram that he had been infected with COVID, gaining millions of views and support from fans and friends but not from CNN.
Rogan has been very controversial with his stance on COVID-19, often recommending younger people not to take it, make their own intelligent decision, and do extensive research on the virus before receiving the jab.
As an American, Rogan is well within his rights to speak his mind and offer recommendations to his viewers. But, with the number of viewers he receives, it was only a matter of time until there was a response from media and politicians once he revealed his diagnosis.
His revelation is not what set off another string of hysteria among the media. Instead, it was the medication he said he had been taking to combat his infection. The first day Rogan said that he felt awful but got better day by day.
He listed numerous medications, including ivermectin — an anti-parasitic drug used to battle infections and parasites. This medication is used on horses and humans as well and has been proven effective on both species.
CNN failed to report this fact, only highlighting that it was a horse dewormer and condemning Rogan for spreading false information. The FDA tweeted, “You are not a horse. You are not a cow. Seriously, Yall. Stop it.”
He interviewed CNN doctor Sanjay Gupta on the “Joe Rogan Experience” (JRE) podcast, calmly confronting him relentlessly on what he felt was unprofessionalism on CNN’s behalf. He believes that he is naturally immune and is better protected from the virus than a vaccinated person, Gupta concurred. A decorated doctor agreed with Rogan, interesting.
Although Gupta was very dismissive to admit that his co-workers were liars, he remained diplomatic and respectful. Gupta acknowledged that what CNN said was not true but would not call them “liars” or “unprofessional.”
The comedian stood up for himself against CNN, calling them liars on his podcast. He commented that If they would lie about this, what could they be lying about with Russia and China.
