Massacre in Joliet
Many citizens that reside in Joliet, Illinois were left in high alert after receiving the news that there was a mass shooting in their area. Police were on the lookout around the area in which the bodies were discovered. This was because beforehand, they were responding to a shooting that was called in.
Nobody expected that there were seven people that were found dead in two residences on the same street. One more person was also found dead that is reportedly also killed by the same perpetrator. According to officers that were on the case, they were all related. Unfortunately, it had been too late, as the gunman had escaped when the officers first responded.
Who Is The Gunman?
However, despite the gunman escaping the crime scene, he was still located by U.S. Marshals towards the southern border of the United States. He was located in Texas, in which it is believed he took his own life with a handgun while confronting law enforcement.
According to officers, it seems that there is no motive for the actions that this man committed. However, it is relieving to hear that there is no longer a threat to public safety. However, it is still terrible that 8 lives were lost in senseless shootings that should have never happened in the first place.
The Future of This Case
It seems that this case has come to an end, after the gunman had taken his own life. It is truly unfortunate that there were so many lives that were lost, but justice will be served. Those that reside in Joliet will surely never forget of this moment, as it is truly bone-rattling for them that this occurred so close.
Subsequently, it can be said with upmost certainty that the victims will never be forgotten. It is unknown what the future will hold for those that are affected. However, as long as it takes, justice will be served for the eight innocent lives that were taken in a senseless act. This goes to show the amount of reform that needs to be taken to reduce the amount of guns that are on the street, or in the wrong hands.
