Logan Clegg Found Guilty of Murder
Logan Clegg, who resided in the woods of New Hampshire was found guilty of murder on Monday. The victims, Stephen and Djeswende Reid, were a couple who were going out for a walk on a trail. The murder happened last year in April. When he gets sentenced on December 15, he’ll be facing life in the prison system.
The lovers were executed walking through a trail near their home in the state capital. Their corpses were found days later, after their bodies had been dragged into the woods and hidden with resources of the location. Clegg gave the cops a different identity when they questioned him and he later burned his tent trying to erase any evidence. He cleared information on his computer that could be used against him and purchased a bus ticket out of the city.
Logan Clegg’s Trial Begins

Investigators saw him in South Burlington, Vermont, and arrested him. He had a one-way ticket to Berlin, Germany, along with a fake passport, and gun in his backpack when officers detained him. His trial began on the 3rd of October. Clegg’s lawyers claimed he abandoned New Hampshire because he violated his probation on charges from Utah.
Clegg was convicted of nine counts which were Four counts of second-degree murder thrown at him, possession of a firearm, and four counts of destroying physical evidence. Prosecutors claimed he was guilty for repeating lies and making efforts to flee the state. The gun found in his backpack was the icing on the cake, however, his defense attorneys said the authorities locked up the wrong individual.
Could Clegg be Innocent?
Mariana Dominguez, Clegg’s defense attorney, said the investigators were debating off speculation. According to her the cops weren’t looking at the science of the situation and saw what they wanted to see.
Shell casings and bullet fragments were later discovered at the crime scene. The casings were also found at a location known to be Clegg’s tent site. Evidence of bullet fragments from Clegg’s firearms were found during the couples’ autopsies. His lawyers said the shell casings and bullets found in the area couldn’t mean that they came from his guns. Dominguez claims that the police have no idea of the type of firearm that killed the Reid’s.
Different View from a Witness
There’s accounts of a woman who was walking her dogs on the same trail the murders took place at. She allowed the couple to pass her and walk ahead. Later, she recalled hearing shots. The woman saw a man on the trail before finishing her hike. Clegg’s defense attorneys claimed that the man seen on the trail wasn’t him because the clothing did not match the description from the prosecutors.
