This year’s Lollapalooza is coming soon. If anyone is planning to go to this yearly event, these are some things they should know about the event.

What To Expect

Some of the artists that people should expect to see are Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Lana Del Rey, A Boogie With Da Hoodie, Lil Yachty, Alan Walker, and the first-ever Latin artist Karol G. This year the event will take place from August 3 through the August 6. For all four days, the event will open its doors at 11 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. The event will take place in Grant Park. The main entrance will be located between Michigan and Ida B. Wells, but the North Entrance will be located in Monroe and Columbus. The headliners for each day are now out and are the following:

  • Thursday, August 3: Karol G, The Rose, Diplo, and Billie Eilish
  • Friday, August 4: The 1975, Knocked Loose, Subtronics, and Kendrick Lamar
  • Saturday, August 5: Tomorrow X Together, The Garden, Pusha T, and Odesza
  • Sunday, August 6: Lana Del Rey, L’Impératrice, Louis The Child, and Red Hot Chili Peppers

Any Tickets Left?

Unfortunately, the tickets were on sale since March of this year, therefore they’re mostly sold out. General Admission for Thursday, Friday, and Sunday is all sold out. However, people can be wait-listed for these days. Thankfully, there are still some tickets for Saturday but they are selling out fast, so make sure to get them as soon as possible.

What Is Allowed And What’s Not Allowed?

Since this is a big event with many people, it is important to make sure everyone inside will be safe the whole time, which is why it is necessary for people to know what they can or can’t bring.

What is allowed:
  • Any clear bags, whatever is inside it must be visible from the outside and it can be no bigger than 12 inches.
  • Baby strollers.
  • Frisbees.
  • Binoculars.
  • Blankets or towels.
  • Empty bottles that can be reused.
  • Liquid sunscreen less than 3.5 ounces.
What is not allowed:

  • Any non-see-through bags.
  • Coolers of any kind.
  • Aerosol products.
  • Any professional cameras.
  • Drones or any flying objects.
  • Umbrellas.
  • Pets (service pets are the only exception).
  • Illegal substances.
  • Fireworks.
  • Weapons of any kind.
  • Outside food or beverages.
  • Large or spiked jewelry.

Kid Friendly?

Unfortunately, this event is NOT kid-friendly, it is an 18+ event. However, they do host a Kidzapalooza with music for children and workshops for the children to do. Kidzapalooza will also be from August 3 through August 6 but the times are shorter, it will be from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The child-friendly version will host performances from Alphabet Rockers, Imagination Movers, Elena Moon Park and Friends, The Happiness Club, and many more. The children will be able to do arts and crafts at the craft station, make music at the hip-hop workshop, get their hair done at Punk Hairdooz, and draw the walls at the Rainbow Chalk Graffiti Wall.

The Food Variety

Since Lollapalooza is a massive event with a lot of people,  there’s going to be a whole lot of food for everyone to enjoy. For the food section, there will be pizza, tacos, tamales, burgers, aguas frescas, hotdogs, fries, fried chicken, corn, and many more delicious food. For those that get a sweet tooth after, for dessert, there will be donuts, cotton candy, Dippin’ Dots, Mexican conchas, ice cream, waffles, churros, and more. It is safe to say no one should be leaving this festival with an empty stomach with the amount of food available.

Lollapalooza is an event that should be on people’s bucket lists if they love music. Remember that there are going to be thousands of people in there, so always be careful. Most importantly, enjoy it, there are only a few days left for the fun to begin.
