Mary Trump has filed a civil suit against President Donald Trump on Sept. 24, 2020. In her lawsuit, she reiterated claims made in her book. In both the official claim and book, Trump says her family — the President included — had browbeaten and swindled her out of the family inheritance.

TrumpAccording to the President’s niece, this inheritance is worth tens of millions of dollars. Trump filed her civil suit two months after her book released. She has named Maryanne Trump Barry, President Trump, and the late Robert Trump — he passed in August 2020 — in her suit filed in the State Supreme Court in Manhattan.

According to reports, the first sentence of the claim states “fraud was not just the family business — it was a way of life.” The document further contests the family’s character by describing details stemming from the 1980s.

She claims the three family members began exploiting the New York City real estate empire, that Fred Trump Sr. erected. Trump says that they did so “to enrich themselves,” regardless of the drawbacks for others.

Trump, who is 55, claims she is one of their victims. She believes that her family conned her out of her inheritance in 1981. Her father Fred Trump Jr., had passed away when she was 16-years-old.

She says that her uncle — the President of the United States — used his powerful influence to convince her to sign “her interests away.” Since the release of Trump’s book, the White House has been trying to cast shadows of doubts.

Representatives for the White House has hinted that the President’s niece has some sort of financial peril. They have been insinuating that this is the reseasoning behind her releasing her “story.”

The document further states that the siblings had ‘cheated on their taxes,” raised the rent on low-income renters, and deceived their “business partners.” According to her, the family did all this before turning their sights onto her.

“Rather than protect Mary’s interests, they designed and carried out a complex scheme to siphon funds away from her interests, conceal their grift, and deceive her about the true value of what she had inherited.”

The claim alleges her uncles’ conspiracies accelerated soon after the death of Trump Sr. in 1999. According to Trump, she only discovered these heinous facts after The New York Times uncovered them in 2018.

Her best-selling book, “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man, mirrors most of the allegations she claims in the lawsuit. Trump feels violated by what her family did to her.

She plans on holding “them accountable and,” and recovering “what is rightfully” hers. The lawsuit does not ask for a specific amount of money. However, they have asked for damages and punitive damages for the siblings “malicious, wanton, and willful” behavior.

At this time the President, Barry, or representation of their late brother has yet to respond.
