Tallahassee Police are investigating a stabbing that took place at Dyke Industries in an industrial park on Sept. 11, 2019. According to initial reports, there are multiple victims who have been hospitalized. However, the extent of their injuries remains unknown at this time.
At 8:37 a.m. the Tallahassee Police Department responded to a stabbing near the 2000 block of Maryland Circle. Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple stabbing victims and provided medical attention. The suspect is in custody.
According to an initial report, the incident occurred at the Coca-Cola plant. This report was incorrect. Workers chased the suspect to the plant parking lot, where the suspect was apprehended.
Bobby Riggins Jr. was at Dyke Industries for a job interview at 8:30 a.m. His wife was on the phone with him when they heard a commotion. Then, he told his wife he had been stabbed. Riggins was stabbed five times.
Spokesperson, for the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Danielle Buchanan, told USA Today that they are treating six stabbing victims.
They are being evaluated by the medical team. There are no updates on the victims at this time.
Damon Miller, spokesperson for the Tallahassee Police Department confirmed a stabbing took place at the plant on Maryland Circle, but he did not offer any details.
