Guns in America
It seems to be that every day we wake up to the news of another mass shooting. It seems to be an endless cycle of innocent lives being taken without any reason. The question continues to arise, “Why does this keep happening?” The answer is simple, lack of gun control. It seems that all over the nation, there are easy ways to get access to automatic rifles. The fact they are so easy to get makes mass shootings across the nation more prevalent. The answer is right there, but for some reason, no action seems to be getting done.
Zelensky on the Texas Massacre
Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelensky had to weigh in on the Texas Massacre. The Ukrainian president, who is in the midst of a brutal and deadly war, sends his condolences to America through a Twitter post.
Deeply saddened by the news of the murder of innocent children in Texas.
This massacre had brought up the talk yet again of gun control, but even today it seems nothing has been done. It is unfortunate that it took an event of this magnitude to finally have some talk about gun control. America continues to fail when it comes to gun control, as there is hope another major event like this does not happen again.
Katy Perry Also Expresses Her Feelings About Gun Violence
On the famous show “American Idol,” Katy Perry broke down after a contestant performed. He was a survivor of a school shooting in Texas. She stated that the government has “failed” its citizens. Her powerful, colorful words hit home for the young man performing and those watching. All of the judges were brought to tears.
The amount of guns America has is surprising. “The US has more guns per capita than any other country in the world,” according to CNN Business. Clearly, the amount of guns that America itself has is not normal whatsoever. It is honestly surprising how guns of a high caliber are still being sold with absolutely no problem. This is one of the main reasons why these mass shootings occur, and many innocent lives are taken for no reason.
Politics Fails Constantly At Gun Reform
Both Democrats and Republicans try different methods to find a way to have successful gun reform but to no avail most times. It is unfortunate that many guns are still being sold to younger people and they then commit the crimes of mass shootings. As these two sides continue to find ways to resolve this gun issue, many more lives are being taken because of these mass shootings.
“Each time — after gun massacres at concerts, grocery stores, a Bible study and, most wrenchingly, elementary schools — they have failed amid Republican opposition,” according to The New York Times. Most if not all of the shootings in America are caused because someone has an AR or something of the sort. How do these people get their hands on this type of weaponry? This is one main reason why action needs to be taken immediately to remove these types of weaponry.
Future of Gun Reform in America
Unfortunately, too many lives have already been lost due to these mass shootings. There is continuous hope amongst the American people that something can be done about gun reform. Many parents are scared of sending their children to school because of these mass shootings. Many have been left traumatized because of what they have seen. Something needs to be done in the near future to reduce the number of mass shootings that occur across America.
With certainty, if guns of high caliber are removed from public access, mass shootings will certainly decrease in America, and the U.S. will no longer be considered a failing country. Americans have hope that something will be done in the nearest future, that way people are not scared of going out and sending their children to school.
