First Time in Phalanx History
Last month, for the first time in our history, Phalanx Family Services officially recognized National Second Chance Month with a series of reentry-themed events. We held:
- Resource fairs.
- Panel discussions.
- Documentary screenings.
- Networking events to help advance the rights of returning citizens.
- As well as events to promote second-chance opportunities.
Thank you to all who supported these events, and to my staff for planning them. The entire month was a success.
Events and Recognition by Phalanx for the Month of May
May is “National Mental Health Awareness Month.” At Phalanx Family Services, we plan to recognize the month by promoting the theme of “Mental Health Awareness in the African-American Community.” In addition to visuals and social media posts surrounding the theme of mental wellness, we will host a community wellness day. This date is to be announced during the month of May.
COVID-19 Incentives
As always, we encourage everyone to do their part to eradicate COVID-19 and make our communities safer by getting vaccinated and boosted. To help with the effort, we offer $50 gift card incentives for first shots and boosters every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Furthermore, Phalanax has $10 weekly incentives for COVID testing every Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. We hope you’ll step up, and encourage others as well, to make the right choice for you, your family, and your community.
