Plane debris fell into a backyard of a suburban home in Chicago last Monday afternoon. The incident occurred during the time the owners were having lunch at a neighbor’s house. The neighbor Patrick Devitt was having lunch next door with the owners at the time of the incident. “So they had their lunch upstairs in our area and they heard a loud sound. Specifically main the thing we were anxious about in the beginning was that the sound was loud. And things like that you get familiar with it. However, these things you don’t think will happen,” stated the neighbor.
A plane’s emergency evacuation slide fell from the plane and made a loud crash in the backyard. And it hit the side of the building, stated WFLA8. The Police were summoned to the scene to look over the damage caused to the home. The home is located by Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.
The United Airlines Flight arrived safely at the airport on Monday. In addition, maintenance workers noticed that an emergency evacuation slide was gone from the side of the aircraft. That statement was made was stated by Federal Aviation Administration.
Authorities located the slide in the backyard of a home in the 4700 block of North Chester.
Aftermath
The plane debris slightly damaged the home.
Furthermore, after the officers arrived they removed the debris from in front of the house. Then O’Hare International Airport management claimed the fallen debris and removed it from the scene.
Federal officials are looking into a piece of debris that fell into a backyard. Officials took away the evacuation slide from the backyard and removed it away from the scene. No one reported any injuries from the fallen debris. FAA is persistent in investigating the incident.
Also, it is currently uncertain what kind of debris was found. And whether it was an aircraft that was landing or a departing aircraft from the O’Hare International Airport.
