United States President Joe Biden has announced an event at the white house with the South Korean Leader. This will take place on April 26, 2023. The following event will include a fancy dinner and the reason for it is to 70th celebrate the seventieth anniversary of their alliance. South Korea’s Leader, Yoon Suk Yeol will be accompanied to the state dinner by first lady Kim Keon Hee.
Why Is This Event Important
The White House press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, has said that this dinner will bring “peace, stability, and prosperity for the two countries.” President Joe Biden also made a state visit with French President Emmanuel Macron earlier in December 2022. The reason Biden is hosting this event is to further strengthen United States ties with Asia. President Yoon has agreed that this alliance is important to South Korea. It is needed in order for both countries to flourish and help each other whenever necessary.
President Joe Biden has worked on growing relations with South Korea and Japan as well. He called this a “groundbreaking new chapter of cooperation and partnership between two of the United States’ closest allies.” Joe Biden also made this visit due to North Korea continuing to make military provocations against the United States. North Korea has launched various ballistic missile “tests” all throughout the year 2022. If North Korea keeps up these missiles, the United States will not think twice about reciprocating their actions.
How It Will Help
Believe it or not, this dinner will benefit the United States and its citizens. Since this will make the relationship between the United States and South Korea stronger, they will be able to support us in any way if we ever needed help.
President Joe Biden is aware of this and it is the reason why he invited Yoon. In addition to this, earlier this week, North Korea announced that because they are really good allies with the United States, the two countries came to an agreement in which any and all wartime disputes will be resolved. This is really good news for the United States so far since South Korea has increased its military arms production.
This alliance goes deeper than just military advantages. Yoon has invested billions of dollars in American clean energy and he also has a $22 billion investment in the United States. President Joe Biden and Yoon have also met a few times before this upcoming event. “The full range of U.S. defense capabilities, including nuclear, conventional, and missile defense capabilities,” stated Biden in an encounter with Yoon on his trip to Cambodia in November.
Two Allies
This event will not be a really private event, meaning there will be more updates as to what they discuss and agree with during the visit. This will make sure both countries are on good terms and to make sure they have the same and/or new agreements that are being followed. There will most likely be more updates on this visit once the date for it arrives, but for now, this is the most up-to-date information on this dinner. Hopefully, during this dinner, these two world leaders can continue to have a good relationship to keep everyone happy and at peace.
