Actor Alec Musser, best known for his role on the soap opera “All My Children” has died. The actor was 50 when he passed away on Jan. 12, 2024. His death was announced by his fiancée, Paige Press, announced the news on Instagram on Saturday. Furthermore, she and Musser’s uncle Robert, confirmed his death to TMZ.
Musser’s Early Years
He was born in New York City, New York on April 11, 1973. Growing up he lived in New Jersey, Connecticut, and San Diego, California. After finishing high school, Musser attended the University of San Diego where he later graduated.
Furthermore, for all of his life he was an avid athlete. After college he moved to the eastern Sierra mountains where he worked at Mammoth Mountain resorts with the professional ski patrol. Moreover, Mammoth Mountain is one of North America’s largest ski resorts.
During the warmer months, Musser would work as a lifeguard. He was approached by a modeling agent in his third season lifeguarding. Eventually, this lead to his first modeling gig with Abercrombie and Fitch. Additionally, he modeled for Gianfrance Ferre, GQ, Cosmopolitan, Men’s Health, Speedo, and Target.
From Modeling to Stardom
During his modeling career, Musser started to act in national commercials. In 2004, while doing commercials, he auditioned for SOAPnet’s series, “I Wanna Be a Soap Star.” A year later, he landed the role of Del Henry in “All My Children,” bringing him back to New York City. Furthermore, he played the role for two years, appearing in 43 episodes.
Additionally, Musser can be seen in the film “Grown Ups,” alongside of Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Rob Schneider, Chris Rock, and David Spade. In the movie he played a patron of the water park in an iconic scene involving Maya Rudolph, Salma Hayek, Joyce, Van Patten , and Maria Bello.
Moreover, Musser held roles on the TV series “Rita Rocks” and “Desperate Housewives.” In addition, he was also a fitness modeling and a bodybuilder.
Paying Tribute
After news of the actor’s death broke, Sandler took to social media to pay tribute.
I loved this guy. Cannot believe he is gone. Such a wonderful, funny good man. Thinking of Alec Musser and his family and sending all my love. A true great sweetheart of a person.
In her post, Press, called Musser the love of her life, adding she “will never stop loving” him. The cause of his death has not been released yet.
