The unnecessary gravity of the COVID-19 pandemic, caused by a failed businessman who was pretending to be our president, exposed income inequality like never before. While the number of billionaires and millionaires became larger, many workers refused to go back to their previous places of employment. Low wages and benefits are now unacceptable. In my Northern Nevada community, there are “help wanted” signs everywhere. There are ads on television begging for applicants.
There are two areas that are critical to our nation’s survival where necessary employees are quitting their jobs. It is not because they don’t love them, it’s because today’s fake Republican Party, Fox News, Newsmax, and other anti-American groups continue to spread lies and create conspiracy theories about the success and safety of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Inaction by your illegitimate 45th president resulted in more than 700,000 deaths, and that number continues to grow. As I have often reported, this number is higher than the total number of deaths in every war, beginning with WWII.
Nurses and teachers are fed up with anti-vaxxers, and the pitiful response by overly arrogant and self-centered “Karens” who refuse to wear masks and insist that their children be mask-free in our schools. As a parent, I know that children are incubators for germs. They are resigning at an alarming rate.
A Florida elementary school teacher, Amanda Tower, explained her reasons for seeking other employment.
“I needed a change for my physical and mental health and that of my family, some of whom have conditions that make them vulnerable to COVID. There was a lack of transparency in the reported numbers and the push to do business as normal. It was all far too much,” Tower said. “I did not want to be a martyr. I loved my job. I’ll miss my kids, but I can’t pour from an empty vessel.”
Trump’s supporters continue to harm our nation’s people and its future. Common sense is non-existent among those who call themselves conservatives, but in fact, are fascists who refuse to do the right thing for the health and welfare of their fellow Americans. It’s time to rid our nation of the most deadly and destructive disease in its history: Trumpism. His influence on the uninformed is the plague that will not go away. DJT is America’s biggest mistake.
Finally, you make not think that losing nurses or teachers are critical to our nation’s future. You would be very, very mistaken.
It’s obvious that losing nurses is more critical to our medical profession than losing doctors. For patients, they are the only individuals who not only care for their physical health, they are the ones who offer confidence, hope, and faith in the treatment being offered to them.
Losing teachers is of equal importance to the future of our nation and its people. Teachers spend more time with America’s children than most parents. They mold young minds in more ways than reading, writing, and arithmetic. Losing one talented and respected teacher is a far greater loss than that of the CEO of a major corporation. Ours is the worst and most corrupt government in the world which continues to place profits before people.
