Former President Trump and his Indictment

Former President Trump has certainly been under the news quite a lot over the past couple of months. As of yet, he has been criminally prosecuted for having documents that he has kept hidden. This has certainly sparked a large amount of outrage throughout the entire nation. However, there are still many people that are on his side, no matter what. Many compare this to the emails that Hillary Clinton was hiding. However, many agree that this is certainly a crime that can be considered worse than the one Hillary Clinton committed, but either way, a crime was committed and there should be consequences regarding this finding.

Trump Decides to Plead Not Guilty Regarding this Indictment

Despite there being a large amount of evidence pointing to Trump being guilty regarding this indictment, he decides to plead not guilty. “Mr Trump is facing 37 counts of illegally retaining classified documents and obstructing the government’s efforts to get them back. He has repeatedly denied wrongdoing,” according to BBC News. Thirty-seven counts is a large number, and if found guilty, can serve a large amount of time in prison. This is especially worse since he was President at a point in time, and therefore can face even more consequences. However, the indictment is certainly a long process, as this has not happened in an incredibly long time. Therefore, given the time, Trump will either be found guilty or not.

Trump Overheard Discussing Classified Documents

Despite his indictment, there is some new evidence that is being presented regarding Trump. It is heard that he is speaking about documents that are classified and that he has access to, despite him not being president. This can certainly be used against him in court in saying he is guilty of his crimes. “In the audio, Trump can be heard saying “these are the papers” and describing them as a plan of attack related to Iran. The clip is roughly two minutes of a conversation that sources told CBS News was approximately two hours long,” according to CBS News. Therefore, this is two hours of Mr. Trump potentially saying information that could be used against him in prosecution.

Spokesperson for Trump Arguing No Crime Was Committed

There is a spokesperson for Mr. Trump that argues that Trump has committed no crime, and what he had mentioned proved it. “The audio tape provides context proving, once again, that President Trump did nothing wrong at all. The President is speaking rhetorically and also quite humorously about a very perverted individual, Anthony Weiner, who was deep inside the corrupt Clinton campaign,” according to Fox News.

However, there are many that are completely against this, and despite this spokesperson defending Trump, may ultimately be outnumbered. This can be considered a large portion of evidence regarding his indictment, or it could simply be what he considers a “joke.” However, only time will tell what Trump may or may not be convicted of.

The Future of Trump’s Indictment and This Audio

It is incredibly unfortunate that a situation of this nature is occurring in the first place. What the American People expect from a president is someone who does not hide things, and can work FOR the people, not against them. However, there is a lot of controversy surrounding this issue, and it is hopeful that this can end as soon as possible. This certainly has the entire nation “on its heels,” as no one knows how this will turn out.
