Young men on the internet have recently taken a liking to the caped crusader. Why is it that young men are “becoming vengeance” and “hiding in the shadows?” Batman is one of the most famous heroes of all time, so it shouldn’t exactly be too surprising that one of the biggest characters of all time is growing a bigger fanbase. However, there could be more to this recent obsession with the “Dark Knight of Gotham.” There could be many reasons for this recent uptake in Batman’s popularity rising. Yet, three answers appear to stick out of the crowd.
The first would be that he is an incredibly inspiring hero that many look up to, so it could be that young men are admiring Batman’s ability to persevere through hard times. Another could be the fact that he is simply just a cool hero. He has many great costume designs and he has existed for almost a century.
As a consequence, the writing of his character is some of the best comic writing a character can ask for. A final reason would be that the young men of this generation are as lonely as could be, and that same loneliness is a core part of Batman’s character. They may be identifying with certain interpretations of the character when young men say “literally me” in response to seeing Batman deal with the crushing feelings of loneliness.
The Personification of the Indomitable Human Will

Batman is one of the most interesting characters of all time. What makes him so interesting is that he has no powers in a world full of superhumans.
He fights for truth and justice even though he has a fundamental disadvantage. His eternal struggle to keep Gotham safe even though he is dealing with threats that no other human being would be able to tackle, he does it anyway.
He is able to do this because he’s Batman, and Batman never gives up no matter what. He could be fighting the most powerful being on the entire planet and will show up fully ready to fight to the death to save the people who need to save.
The essence of Batman as a character is the indomitable human spirit, so it makes perfect sense that young men would find comfort in a character like him.
As a character, Batman is dark and scary, but he is also one of the greatest heroes of all time. He tries his hardest every single day to do his best. It makes sense that any man could find this kind of character inspiring because young men go through hard times as well. However, as long as they have the dark knight, taking on new challenges doesn’t seem so scary.
Batman Is One of the Coolest Characters of All Time
It is something about the cape flowing in the darkness that is so enticing when it comes to Batman. The character himself has so many great costumes and color combinations. He was played for decades by one of the greatest voice actors of all time by the name Kevin Conroy. Furthermore, he has an incredible rogues gallery. His rivalry with Bane, his primary nemesis with the Joker, and even his tragic villains like Mr. Freeze and Killer Croc are great.
The character has a range of emotions wise, and there isn’t any story where having more Batman doesn’t help the cool factor. There is a reason why different franchises like “TMNT,” “Scooby Doo,” and “Spawn” keep collaborating with Batman. From a “coolness” perspective, he is just a great character, and it seems like many more people, especially young men on the internet, are starting to notice.

Literally Me
Finally, Batman goes through some very human things as a character. As everyone knows, his parents were murdered in Crime Alley at the back of the Monarch Theater. This eternally scarred him as a person is the reason he took up the mask at all.
This pain turned him into a wrathful person and it took a long time for him to fully process these emotions. While many of his iconic lines like “I’m vengeance” and “They think I am hiding in the shadows. But I am the shadows” are great and all, they are actually reflections of the deepest parts of his aching soul.
These same dark feelings are things that the young men of the world experience every day. Bad breakups, being fired or even failing a new personal record in the gym can spur feelings of darkness. However, Batman is a character that fights through these emotions and tries his best to help people anyway. Though some interpretations of the character romanticize these aspects, Batman in general can serve as a great benchmark for never giving up on young men.
With all this in mind, it makes perfect sense that young men would fall in love with the idea of Batman. He is inspiring, fearless, and unstoppable. For the young men of the world, Batman can be a great role model.
As a character, he has emotional range, expresses his feelings with his support system, and has a cool cape. He is for everyone, and it seems the young men of the world are the next to take up the mantle of Gotham’s protector.
