Wisconsin Continues to Search for a Young Boy Who Disappeared

Missing Child

On February 20, 2024, approximately three weeks ago, Elijah Vue, age three, vanished in Eastern Wisconsin. His mother and he had been living at a house in Two Rivers, 40 miles southeast of Green Bay, when he was last seen. Elijah has brown eyes, sandy blonde hair, and it’s speculated that he may have been holding a red and white plaid blanket when he vanished. He is also of Hmong heritage. It is crucial that people help on the search for this boy.

Furthermore, at this time, the only people charged and accused of being involved in Elijah’s disappearance are his mother, 31-year-old Katrina Baur. As well as the man looking after Elijah when he went missing, 39-year-old Jesse Vang. Both individuals are being charged with child neglect. Baur is being charged with being a party to the crime of neglecting a child and two counts of obstructing an officer.

Unraveling The Case

Elijah was reported missing for the first time on February 20 at 11 a.m., when Vang called the Wisconsin police to report that the child had vanished after waking up from a nap. Furthermore, it has been claimed that Vang was simply there to help with “managing the boy’s bad behavior” and “helping him become a man.” Elijah was disciplined by having to stand for one to three hours at a time as part of the time-out protocol. To improve his behavior, he was also forced to pray and take cold showers. All of these experiences were disconcerting for a three-year-old.

Moreover, as previously noted, Elijah’s mother was also implicated in the child’s mistreatment. She purposefully took him to the residence for disciplinary reasons and was aware of the tactics used on her child as well as the lack of care offered to Elijah, which is really upsetting to hear.

Despite the information provided above, both suspects deny any participation in Elijah’s disappearance. Unfortunately, no further information has been provided about this aspect of the case.

On the other hand, we now know that Elijah’s amber alert is about to enter its third week. Additionally, the authorities are attempting to clarify some details about a “vehicle of interest.” It is alleged that neither Baur nor her companion Vang own the Nissan Altima. More specifically, authorities are looking for photographs or footage from doorbell cameras that show the car on February 19. They want to find the car between 2:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. The automobile is a 1997 Altima with a license plate number that begins with A and ends with a zero. The authorities are solely interested in tracking down the car, not in finding the driver.

Information of Elijah’s Whereabouts Can Be of Great Assistance

A $10,000 reward is now offered for information leading to an arrest or conviction. The FBI is also offering an additional $15,000 for any information that leads to Elijah’s location, an arrest, or a conviction. Residents were encouraged to display their support for the police agency by hanging green and blue ribbons and lights. Elijah loves the color blue, but green is a message of hope for the missing children’s recovery.

Additionally, the authorities are pleading with the community in Wisconsin to unite during these exasperating times and promptly report any information or suggestions that may aid in Elijah’s discovery.

So far on Sunday, the Vue family’s organized search groups have met at the Mikadow Theater, 1118 Washington Street, in Manitowoc, before spreading out at 9:30 a.m. Another search left at 1 p.m. It is imperative that the community keeps up its current efforts to locate Elijah. Do not be reluctant to help; your contribution may be crucial.
