Children Being Left in Hot Cars Across the Nation
As terrible and horrible as it sounds, there have been several cases across the United States, where children have been left in terribly hot cars. No child can handle the heat of this nature for hours, and unfortunately, there have been several children that have died from this. However, there are many parents that use the excuse that they had “forgotten” their child. This is not right under any circumstance, as no child deserves to die no matter what. Unfortunately, recently, an 11-month-old girl was a victim of this horrid crime.
What Occurred This Past Sunday?
Unfortunately, there was yet another child who had their life taken due to being left in a hot car. “An 11-month-old baby died Sunday after being left alone in a car Sunday while her parents attended church in Palm Bay, police said,” according to ClickOrlando.org. She was only 11 months old, and her life was cut short in such a cruel way. The temperature in Florida can very well be very high throughout the entire year. On Sunday, the temperature in Florida was 70 degrees. “The temperature inside a car can exceed 115 degrees when the outside temperature is just 70 degrees, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration,” according to ABC News. Therefore, one can only imagine what this 11-month-old girl underwent, in such a hot car.
The Future of This Crime
This act is a crime all around, and should not be forgiven. Many parents across the United States claim to “forget” their child in the car and end up losing said child to the heat. There is still an investigation being done to see what exactly happened that day to this 11-month-old. There is a hope that these crimes happen less and less across the nation, as young children do not deserve to lose their lives in this way.
